Coto Makassar is a stew with seasoning broth made from ground peanuts. The main ingredient of this soup is beef, and it can be mixed with innards such as intestine, liver, lungs, heart, tripe, or cow brain. Stew offal which have cooked is then sliced in to a decent size meal and presented in spicy sauce which has a very distinctive flavor. Condensed, dense, fresh, savory, with strong spicy typical of Makassar. Coto Makassar and Kaloa rice stalls is close to the food stall which is in front of the Koramil office, Coto Makassar and Kaloa rice stalls open from 4 pm until 10 pm, the price for Coto Makassar IDR 12,000 only.

The access to Coto Makassar and Kaloa Rrice from Gerlam is about 5 minutes by walking, after that turn left about fifty meters, and you need approximately 2 minutes to reach the place.
