Summary: A story of friendship between a boy and a robot.

EXT.ABANDONED SCHOOL BUILDING BACK YARD – 16.00

There are three grade school students in their uniform beating up a smaller student with the same uniform.

BULLY 1
How about now, huh? Still want to fight back?!

BULLY 2
I got it! I got it!

One of the bully forcefully took a shiny metal bat from the smaller student.

JUN
No! That’s my dad’s! Give it back!

BULLY 1
You can run pretty fast for a freak, huh? What should we do with you now?

BULLY 2
I have an idea! Let’s lock him up in that building over there!

The bully pointed to a storage building across the yard. The building looks very old, the paint already peeled, the walls are cracked and covered with moss, and it has a horrifying atmosphere surrounding it.

JUN
N-no!

BULLY 1
Since you made us run all the way here, you can sleep in that scary building over there!

BULLY 2
And I’ll be taking this with me

The second bully put the metal bat in his backpack, then drags the smaller boy into the storage building and slammed the door shut, jamming it.

INT. STORAGE BUILDING

The storage building is almost completely dark, save for a hole on the roof letting in a beam of sunlight.

JUN
Let me outta here!

Jun booms the door in vain. He then fell on his knees and into a fetal position. Faint giggling of the bullies can be heard from behind the door.

JUN
S-someone, please help…

A faint beeping sound can be heard from further inside the warehouse. Jun gets up and decided to investigate it.

A huge object is on the floor, it is covered by a ragged cloth. Jun uncovered the object to reveal a huge blue robot, its armor is dented and scratched but it seems to be in a good condition.

JUN
A robot… What’s this thing doing here?

Jun presses the beeping button located between the robot’s collar. Electrical zapping and flashing lights comes from the robot’s optics, it is activated.

MAGNOLIA-08
Mo… morning. What is your command, master?

JUN
G-good evening! I’m not your master! My name’s Jun

MAGNOLIA-08
Master Jun, what is your command?

JUN
Just Jun will do, I don’t like being formal.

MAGNOLIA-08
ROGER

JUN
It’s Jun! Now what’s your name?

CU MAGNOLIA-08’s collar

Jun examined a text printed on the collar of the robot, it says MAGNOLIA-08.

JUN
Mag… Maguu… Mago… That is sure is a mouthful; I’ll call you ‘Maggie’ for short!

MAGNOLIA-08
Data storage complete. I am now registered as: ‘Maggie’.

JUN
Now… how do we get out of this awful place…

MAGNOLIA-08 gets up and punches a hole through the wall

JUN
Wow! You’re pretty strong, Maggie! Now I can get back home before dinner!

MAGNOLIA-08
Home… what… is… home?

JUN
What’s a home? Hmmm, it’s where I live with my mom. How long have you been sleeping in that place, Maggie?

MAGNOLIA-08
I… I can’t remember… What is this place?

JUN
We’re in Neo Jakarta, Maggie. I guess you must’ve bumped your head pretty hard, huh?

MAGNOLIA-08
Neo Jakarta… this all seems so familiar…

JUN
Come on Maggie, I’ll show you around!

I see now… Jun, you have taught me many wonderful things, but there is so much to learn about I don’t think I can take it all in.

JUN
Don’t sweat it Maggie, I’ve been like that too before

Jun sees the three bullies that were beating him up before, his eyes focused on the baseball bat that is in one of their backpacks.

JUN
Hey, that’s my dad’s! Maggie, we have to get that bat back, my mom’s going to chew me out if she found out I lost it!

Maggie picks Jun up and put him on his shoulder.

JUN
Hey you guys! I think I’m going to need that back!

BULLY 2
Hey it’s the freak, he’s ba–

The bullies turned around and saw Maggie; they promptly panicked and runs away, dropping the bat in the process.

JUN
I got it! I got it! Ahahahah!

MAGNOLIA-08
Is that an important artifact of yours, Jun?

JUN
Yeah! Mom said it belonged to my dad a long time ago… It’s a very precious thing. That’s why I want to be a pro baseball player when I grow up!

PROFESSOR NASYA
Stop right there!

JUN
Who? What’s going on?

PROFESSOR NASYA
That big robot there is coming with me, outta the way kid.

JUN
Who are you people?!

PROFESSOR NASYA
I’m the one who made that piece of crap, now I’m taking it back. That dumbo got something inside him that’s going to blow up at any second, and I’m sure nobody here wants any part of it.

JUN
Blow up?! You’re lying!

MAGNOLIA-08
Jun… I have to go now…

JUN
Go where?! I thought you’re not done learning things yet…

MAGNOLIA-08
I… I don’t want to be a burden to everyone. But I promise I’ll be back!

JUN
Sob sob… Maggie, you’re burning up!

MAGNOLIA-08
I promise I’ll be back to you

JUN
I’ll wait here, until you return

MAGNOLIA-08
See you again, Jun…

I am impressed the way you told the story. The theme you had brought up was from an imagination from a boy who had got bullying from his friends, then he got a new friend which was not a human (Do you ever felt that? Because I think Jun’s characterization was so real here). But even though I like your story, I am a bit confused to imagine the whole story. I am not saying that your dramatization was bad because you just put a character, Magnolia-08. But, I think it would be better if you dramatize your work that can explain the whole of the story, not just focus on one character. By the way, I love your drawing. Nice work, Dit! (123 Words)

Your story is a little bit interesting for you can bring sad atmosphere inside this short film script; however I must say that the way you told the whole story is too short. If you wrote this story with more details in the story it will be great. The setting of the story is clear enough for the reader to read. Honestly I think for film script, your works are too short. By the way I am a little bit disappointed because you don’t make the dramatization by made a film about this work and you just made a draw of the main character, Jun.
